Objective: 
  1. Enhance the skills of gemstones identification, their crystal system, and physical, optical &chemical properties of gems, its origins they will also learn about the identification of naturally occurring gems.
     
  2. Study of 4 ‘C’s of diamonds, Use of various Gemology instruments and different ways and techniques of evaluating

: Uses of various instruments:
  • Refract meter, Polariscope, Microscope, Spectroscope, Ultraviolet lamp, Hardness pencil, Diamond probe, Chelsea filter, 10x lens. MM Watch, optimizer, sieve etc.

Identification, Sorting and Grading of Stones
  • Rough and polished gems
  • Synthetic and stimulant gems,
  • Absorption Spectrum.
  • Defects in gem minerals
  • Flaws and inclusions.
  • Recognize the colour, clarity and cut grading criteria of gemstones
