The department of Jewellery Designing organized a Jewellery Beading workshop from 23 February 2015 through 27 February 2015 (5 Days) which was open for all.

During the workshop, students were given an opportunity to learn all phases of jewellery beading from the Beading Expert Mr. Deepak Khandelwal and made beautiful pieces like necklaces, bracelets and earrings, etc as per their interest.

In the beginning session, Dr. Neeru Jain, Head, Department of Jewellery Designing, The IIS University, introduced the students with the beading process, tools and materials. In practical sessions, students were involved with the planning and practice of techniques, types, size and colour combination of the beads as well as beading designs. They learned the technical skills including use of various pliers, threading, knotting and stringing.

21 students participated and the department catered to all tools and products - semi-precious stones, like, carved and plain jade, garnet and iolite, turquoise and pearl, among many others.

Dr. Rakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar of the University, encouraged and congratulated the workshop participants. She highlighted the benefits of such informative workshops and added that these imbibe technical skills and knowledge amongst the students.
