Workshop Details:

The workshop was held to empower the students of Department of Fashion and Textile Technology with wholesome knowledge of styling for celebrities, commercials, editorials, ramp shows and other high profile events through style makeovers, costume based styling for TV/ movies/ print, editorial styling, ramp/ fashion show styling, event appearances and personal styling. It aimed at end to end fashion and styling solutions.

Ms. Prachi Choraria of Semester IV, Department of Fashion and Textile Technology welcomed and introduced the resource persons.

The session commenced at 10:30 am with Ms. Sandhya Srinivasan’s presentation about role and responsibilities of Fashion Stylist who is often part of larger creative team assembled by the client, collaborating with the Fashion Designer, Photographer, Hair Stylist, Make- up artist to put together a particular look or theme for specific project. She focussed the presentation on fashion photography, make- up and costumes for editorials, TV and ramp.Once the students were equipped with the required inputs for fashion styling, Mr. Suraj Kathuria started the practical workshop activity. He divided the total number of students in eight groups with five students each to work as stylist, designer, make-up artist, photographer and communicator. Taking inspiration from the magazines, the designer of each group chose a theme to work upon. Sketches of a face were given to plan and try the make- up according to the theme. They worked in tandem to create the complete look.All the garments brought by the students were collected together. The designers of the groups were blind-folded and were asked to pick three garments randomly. With the chosen garments, the group had to present their best look according to the theme.Group B, group A and group D were adjudged I, II, III winners respectively. The day long workshop ended at 3:15 pm. The resource persons gave their views and suggestions to the students.

Ms. Prachi Choraria gave the vote of thanks to the resource persons.

Feedback of the students:

The workshop was an amazing experience that helped them flaunt their creativity to utmost extent through excellent team spirit . They worked tirelessly to put their ideas to generate the best outcome of their themes. They looked forward to many such activities.
