Objective of the Event:

To make the students learn various innovative and creative techniques of Jewellery designing.



A guest Lecture was organized by the Jewellery Designing Department on “Dissemination of creativity” on 13th December 2022 from 9.30 am to 12.30 p.m. Ms. Inger Margrethe Larsen from Denmark was the resource person for the session. Ms. Larsen Graduated from the Royal College of Art in London with a Master's degree in Jewelry Art and awarded the Arts and Crafts Prize of 1879 ’ s bronze medal in Denmark. Works in the tension between arts, crafts and design and has participated in several exhibitions at home and abroad, such as at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition and the Biennial for Arts & Design. She likes to use her jewellery art as an approach by her medal project “Medals for everyday heroes ” and her Corona project ” Impressions, expressions and imprints ”.

She has made students aware of various innovative and creative techniques of Jewellery designing. She introduced the students with the installation jewellery wherein the waste materials like jute, plastic, wood, textiles, tiles etc. can be used with metals like brass and copper. She Has shown the products manufactured using above materials.  She Further gave  a brief on vaccum jewellery manufacturing technique and embossing technique. She explained the techniques using  a video presentation. She advised the students to approach their work with curiosity, investigate novel materials, and consistently push themselves to discover new expressions.

The session ended with a question answer session from students and faculties and Vote of Thanks given by Dr. Neeru Jain, Head, Department of Jewellery Designing.


Outcome of the event:

Students learned various innovative and creative techniques of Jewellery designing.

Students learned the scope of waste material in jewellery making.
