The objective of the Event:

  • To provide a platform to students to display their creativity.
  • To Develop  Entrepreneurial skills among students.

Description:

The Department of Jewellery Designing of IIS (Deemed to be University) organized a Jewellery Exhibition on 31st March 2023 & 1st April 2023 which was open for all teachers and students. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Abhishek Raniwala, co-founder of Raniwala Jewellers (1881), Jaipur. University Chancellor Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice Chancellor Prof. T. N. Mathur, Registrar Raakhi Gupta along with other faculties were also present on the occasion.

The students showed their creativity and made unique designs by using scrap materials such as jute, fabric, leather, tiles, gotta, paper, wood and plastic scraps according to their interest and they also create beautiful jewellery through jewellery beading art with the use of precious and semi-precious stones. During the exhibition, the students got the opportunity to display beautiful pieces like necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc. made by them.

 

Along with this, the students also used ingredients like cinnamon, clove, walnut, almond as well as matchbox to make jewellery, which surprised everyone. Recycled jewellery displayed on this occasion was liked a lot, along with paper drawings and sketches also attracted a lot of visitors. Students also performed live beading demonstrations and created bespoke items in response to demand.

The attractive jewellery items were appreciated by one and all.

Dr. Neeru Jain, Head, Department of Jewellery designing, supported a lot and guided the students in planning and organizing the exhibition.

Dr. Ashok Gupta, Chancellor, Prof. T.N. Mathur, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Raakhi Gupta, registrar encouraged all the students who participated enthusiastically in the Jewellery Exhibition.

Exhibition provided a platform to students to display their creativity and to show their unique creations to the fraternity.

 

 

Outcome of the event:

  • Students enthusiastically exhibited their products.
  • Learned all the phases from developing creativity to marketing of jewellery.
