  • To learn jewellery making using jute.
  • To learn Doll making using jute.

Description:

The department of Jewellery designing organized a workshop on Jute jewellery craft for jewellery designing students.

Students got the opportunity to learn all phases of jewellery making with jute during the workshop. Ms Madhavi Agarwal, a Jute Craft expert, told students that jute jewellery is Eco-Friendly, 100% Biodegradable, Reusable, Recyclable, Cost-Effective, Durable and Fashionable. Students created beautiful jute jewellery pieces such as necklaces, rings, pendants, and earrings based on their interests. Students also learned how to make a doll under the guidance of Ms. Madhavi.

In the beginning session, Dr. Neeru Jain, Head, Department of Jewellery designing, IISU, introduced the students with the Jute Jewellery Process, tools, Equipments and materials.

The students participated enthusiastically in the workshop and it was an informative and creative workshop which imbibe technical skills and knowledge amongst the students.

Outcome of the workshop:

  • Students learned all the phases of jute jewellery making.
  • Students can commercialise this art and can start their own business with small capital and can give employments to others.
