Guest Lecture on Properties of gemstones and Design Development

A guest Lecture was organized by the Jewellery Designing Department on “Properties of gemstones and Design Development” on 06st October 2016 . 

Ms. Abha Gupta (Former principal IIGJ,Jaipur) delivered her lecture on Qualities & Properties of gemstones and Design development to provide students with the education and experience necessary for a professional career in Jewellery designing.

In the beginning session she introduced the students with qualities and properties of gemstones and gemology, she told that it is science art and profession of identifying and evaluating gem stones. She also explained the difference between precious semi - precious and organic stones.

She also imparts knowledge on the broad spectrum of Jewellery industry, from Elements of design, Design Research,  Sketching, Jewellery Making, Merchandising, Marketing, and Design Methodology

The purpose of this lecture was to make aware students   about gem and jewellery and career opportunities in jewellery designing and gemology considering the fact that India is largest consumer of gold in the world.

She answered different queries after the lecture. This was an informative experience for the students of Jewellery Designing.
