Pay special attention to type of fabric, basic weave, thread count, balance, end use of fabric, and its general care
- Preparation of scrap book for fabrics related to various fabric construction techniques (felting/knitting/weaving/braiding etc). 10 hrs
- Understanding the characteristics, uses, collection and market survey on various types of accessories 10hrs
- Support Materials: Interfacing, Lining, Interlining
- Support Devices: Shoulder pad, Sleeve headers and Collar stays
- Closures: Zippers, Buttons, Button holes, Hooks ‘n’ Eye, Press ’n’ Studs, Buckles, Belts
- Trims: Ribbons, Laces and Braids
- Non wovens
- Visual reproduction of varieties of fabric for fashion drawings with special reference to texture and prints 10 hrs
- Analyzing Fabric Samples for: 20 hrs
- Colorfastness to washing, ironing, crocking, sunlight and perspiration.
- Dimensional stability
- Dyeing and printing defects
