Description:
The Department of Jewellery Designing of IIS (Deemed to be University) organized a Jewellery Exhibition “Sparkling Threads: Crafting Magic with Beads” on 15stMarch 2024 & 16stMarch 2024 which was open for all staff and students.
Beaded jewellery holds a special place in the world of accessories for its intricacy, versatility, and timeless elegance. "Sparkling Threads" is a celebration of this art form, where students have poured their creativity into crafting unique and stunning pieces using beads of various shapes, sizes, and materials.
The exhibition features a diverse collection of beaded jewellery, ranging from traditional designs inspired by Rajasthani culture to contemporary pieces reflecting modern trends. Students made necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and other accessories adorned with beads in vibrant colours and intricate patterns. Students have experimented with various beading techniques, including bead weaving, embroidery, stringing, and wirework, to create one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase their technical skill and artistic vision. Each piece tells a story, reflecting the personality and style of its creator.
The exhibition is organized into thematic displays, each highlighting a different aspect of beadwork. In addition to the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops where they can learn basic beading techniques, discover the history of beadwork, and even try their hand at creating their own jewellery under the guidance of experienced instructors.
The students showed their creativity and made unique designs by using scrap materials such as jute, fabric, leather, tiles, gotta, paper, wood and plastic scraps according to their interest and they also create beautiful jewellery through jewellery beading art with the use of precious and semi-precious stones
The attractive jewellery items were appreciated by one and all.
