T-shirt Redesign Competition

Pearl Academy of Fashion Design, Jaipur organized T-shirt redesign and Doodle a scarf competitions at the lawns of IIS University on February 3 2015. Ms. Lakshmi Agarwal from Department of Fashion and Textile Technology, IIS University was coordinator of T-shirt Redesign competition. Mr. Mahesh Singh, Head of Department- Visual arts was coordinator of doodle a scarf competition. Mr. Anurag Kapoor coordinated the event from Pearl Academy and Mr. Kunal was faculty Present from Pearl Academy, Jaipur. The judges for the competition were Dr. Radha Kashyap (HOD- FTT Department), Mahesh Singh (HOD-Visual Art Department) and Anurag Kapoor (Pearl Academy).

DOODLE A SCARF COMPETITION

In the first phase of competition, 47 students participated. Flora and Fauna, Indian Kitsch and Fashion Accessories were there themes for the competition. Participants were given an hour (11:15am-12:15pm) to exhibit their ideas related to their chosen theme. All the participants poured their creative juices to beautifully doodle the scarves using them as a canvas to translate their ideas and expressions. Three scarves adjudged appropriate for cash awards by judges were as follows:

1st cash award of Rs. 1000/- Arza Arora (M.V.A 2nd Semester)

2nd cash award of Rs. 750/- Anamika Mukherjee (B.V.A 6th Semester)

3rd cash award of Rs. 500/- Megha Bhageria ( B.V.A 8th Semester)

T-SHIRT REDESIGN COMPETITION

In the first phase of competition, 38 students participated. The theme of their competition was “Child Empowerment”. Participants were given an hour (12:15pm-1:15pm) to complete their theme presentation on T-shirts. They used Poster colors, Fabric paints, scarp fabric, and other Textile material to depict their ideas related to theme through various techniques like brush/cone painting, stencil painting, etc. The representation of theme ranged from child labor, child trafficking, save the girl child, child marriages, stress due to studies and other socio economic factors, child related problems prevalent in India.

Best three T-shirt redesigns that bagged cash awards were:

1st cash award of Rs. 1000/- Sanskriti Sharma (Add On fashion designing advance diploma)

2nd cash award of Rs. 750/- Anjali Verma (M.F.T 2nd Semester)

3rd cash award of Rs. 500/- Pooja Paliwal (M.V.A 2nd Semester)

The cash awards were given away to all winners by Vice Chancellor Ashok Gupta and Registrar Dr. Rakhi Gupta.
