  • The objective of this visit was to make students familiar with various kinds of fashion jewellery jewellery techniques.
  • They learned about the many processes involved in the creation of jewellery.

Description:

The Department of Jewellery Designing organized a Visit to Craft Mela 2022 held at IIGJ Sitapura on 30th April 2022.

Craft Mela 2022 is an jewellery event that is held yearly by Indian Institute of gems and jewellery, Jaipur to showcase the work of their students. The students showed their creativity and unique jewellery pieces made by them using pachhi,  lac,  beading and terracotta.

Mr Anish Kappil, Associate professor, explained and demonstrated the entire process  pachhiwork,  lac jewellery. Ms. Madhu Sharma briefed the students about the process used in making resin and terracotta jewellery and Mr. Subhra Chatterjee demonstrated the beading techniques. He also imparted the knowledge about upcoming trends in jewellery industry The visit proved to be beneficial exercise for all the students as it was completely knowledgeable for future perspective.

Outcome of the event:

Students visited the craft mela enthusiastically and learned the new techniques of jewellery making
