Objective: 
  1. To impart understanding of different media of application-printing (stencil, block) and special finishes.
  2. To equip the students with technical skills of designing competency for different media of application.
  3. To develop a professional approach towards the thematic designing for textiles.
     

                                     30 hrs                                                     

1.Preparation of various design sheets using elements of design in textiles                     

  • Line and Form– Geometric, Simplified, Naturalized, Stylized and Abstract.            
  • Colour – Colour Wheel, Intensity Scale, Gray Scale and Value Scale, Colour mixing and colour ways                                                                                    
  • Rendering various textures:                                                                               

Fabric simulation - sheer, medium & heavy weight fabrics, net, leather, pile fabric like velvet, corduroy

 

   2. Design Interpretation (Preparation of design sheets)                                           10 hrs                   

  • Principles of design - balance, harmony, proportion, emphasis and rhythm

 

   3.  Enlargement & reduction of motifs                                                                    05 hrs

 

   4.  Thematic approach to design:                                 10 hrs

        Preparation of theme board/mood board –depicting colour story and textures for textiles    

                                                   

   5.  Design development and fabric ornamentation with different techniques for the above developed themes                                             20 hrs

  • Preparation of design sheet
  • Develop the above theme on fabric

 

Product Development for the above theme.
